To Our Customers & Friends of Pioneer Bank and Trust, a letter from Dylan S. Clarkson, President and CEO.…/DOC031620-03162020084…

In recent weeks, like you, we have been monitoring the evolution of COVID 19 also known as the Coronavirus not only in the markets we serve but in the World. This Pandemic as I suspect all pandemics are is unique and being taken very seriously by all of us at Pioneer Bank & Trust. Always of paramount concern is the well-being of the citizens in the communities we serve. Today, we remain committed to providing uninterrupted service and dedication to our customers through this event. While COVID 19 is unprecedented in the United States and the World the spread of information both accurate and inaccurate is also unprecedented. Together, this combination creates a truly unique circumstance for all of us that requires minute by minute diligence and fact-based decision making. We will continue to represent facts of COVID 19 and take appropriate action as necessary.

Information on Utilities Servicing our Area

During this unprecedented time, we recognize that many in the communities we serve could use a little extra help.

Midco has signed the FCC’s Keep Americans Connected Pledge to ensure people don’t lose internet or telephone connectivity during this time. Please see our COVID-19 updates page for specific details.

We have also compiled a list of local resources to help people in need during this time.We have also placed this list on our website.

Vast Broadband

We certainly understand our customers’ concerns and stress in this challenging time, and we understand that connectivity is of utmost importance.

Therefore, beginning Monday, March 16, Vast Broadband plans to do the following for 60 days:

  • Vast plans to open all Wi-Fi hot spots up to customers and non-customers free of charge. A list of locations can be found at
  • Vast will partner with school districts to ensure students in need of connectivity for remote learning with limited resources can still have internet.
  • We continue to offer our low-income internet programs to those that are eligible.
  • Vast does not have data caps so customers with additional usage will not be charged any additional fees.
  • Vast will work with customers individually affected by this crisis that may need special arrangements to insure their services are not interrupted.

We understand broadband internet access will be increasingly necessary for homes to be able to learn and work remotely. As our country works together to contain this virus, Vast pledges to do our part to assist our neighbors in need.

Montana Dakota Utilities

As the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to evolve, Montana-Dakota Utilities’ priority is always the safety and health of our employees, our customers and the public. We know our customers look to us to provide safe and reliable natural gas and electric service, which requires employees being available 24/7 to fulfill critical roles and emergency response. We also know some of our business and residential customers might have trouble paying their bills because of coronavirus related hardships. In that regard, Montana-Dakota has taken measurable actions to help our customers: As the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to evolve, Montana-Dakota Utilities’ priority is always the safety and health of our employees, our customers and the public. We know our customers look to us to provide safe and reliable natural gas and electric service, which requires employees being available 24/7 to fulfill critical roles and emergency response. We also know some of our business and residential customers might have trouble paying their bills because of coronavirus related hardships. In that regard, Montana-Dakota has taken measurable actions to help our customers:

  • We will not be disconnecting customers for nonpayment during this time.
  • We have filed requests with our regulatory commissions for a waiver that allows the company to waive late fees.
  • And, as always, we will work with customers on payment plan options.

We have instituted certain measures to help protect our employees from exposure to COVID-19 and to curb the potential spread of the virus in customer homes and facilities. We are closely following recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This includes recommendations on social distancing. These temporary practices may appear less friendly than the interaction you’ve come to expect from us, but please know we are committed during this difficult time to providing our same high level of customer service.

Black Hills Energy

Your safety is our top priority.  Black Hills Energy’s number one priority is the continued safety of our customers, employees and communities.
